Begin Paper Piecing - Myrna

$75

Saturday and Sunday
August 26 and August 27

10 am - 4 pm

Have you heard the term “machine paper piecing” or “foundation piecing” and wondered what it is?  Have you seen numbered patterns in books and magazines, and wondered how to use them?  Have you seen perfect patchwork and wondered how to get those results?  If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this is the class for you.  Learn how to machine paper piece blocks quickly and easily by constructing a lovely mariner’s compass.

Note that a beginner class such as this one is required for more advanced classes requiring paper piecing.

Farm Girl Vintage Club - Leslie

$100 (Book Purchase Required)
Saturdays
February 4, March 4, April 1, May 13, and June 3

4:30 pm - 10:30 pm

From the Farm Girl Vintage book by Lori Holt, participants will work in a club format through the 45 Farm Girl blocks in either the 6" or 12" size. Additional blocks of barns and tractors, and various settings are an option for each participant to personalize their final quilt. All blocks are pieced, and some use simple embroidery stitches for details. Selection of fabrics for each block individualizes the process, and makes everyone's quilt unique. If you do not wish to work from stash, fabric fat eighth bundles are available to purchase for the backgrounds and prints.

Classes may be paid for and attended individually, providing club session is not sold out. Please ask staff for price and policies.

Portraits- Roxanne Nelson

$160

Thursday, July 6 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Thursday, July 13 from 6:30 - 9:30 pm
Saturday, July 22 from 10 am - 4 pm
Saturday, August 12 from 10 am - 4 pm

The class “Portraits” is an opportunity for you to create a unique fabric portrait from an image of your selection. The subject matter will be the human face focusing on facial features and expressions. This course will include using photo editing software to transform faces into your own pattern. Let your imagination run wild with the fabric selections – from a subtle monotone to your version of an Andy Warhol. Using fusible applique techniques, this will be a creative and fun project.

NOTE: Pictorial Quilting is for images of places and pets. Portraits is for images of people. Past students who have taken Pictorial Quilting and wish to do another Pictorial are encouraged to enroll in Portraits. While Pictorial Quilting is not a pre-requisite for Portraits, it is not recommended that students enroll in both classes at the same time. One class is challenging enough.
