Orders are processed and shipped as quickly as possible, usually within 48-72 hours of receipt.  All orders are filled and processed manually by knowledgeable staff in the store (not off-site), and your credit card does not get charged until the order is finalized - not automatically when you place the order by a third-party payment processor .

When you place your order, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that it was placed.  When your order is processed, you will again receive an e-mail, confirming the totals and shipping details and date.  We ask that you please watch your e-mails in case we have any questions about your order that need answered in order to finalize it.

Shipping within Canada

All shipping rates shown when you place your order are ESTIMATES ONLY.  We ship via Canada Post, which base their prices on volume.  In other words, the dimensions of the package and the weight factor into the price. Further, Canada Post's prices on parcels fluctuates with their fuel surcharge which varies according to the costs of transportation.

We cannot know what the shipping rate will be until we cut the fabric, weigh, and measure the package to be sent.  As we want to give you the best shipping price always, we have not implemented a set shipping price scale, as we feel this can be unfair to you. As we are a business, we receive shipping discounts and expedited delivery on parcels from Canada Post, and these discounts are passed on to you.   AT ALL TIMES, YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS, PLUS A $1.50 PACKAGING AND HANDLING FEE PER PACKAGE.

When at all possible, we will ship letter mail to save you money.  Generally, 2.25 meters of regular cotton fabric can be sent as letter mail, as long as the height is no more than 2 cm and the weight is not greater than 500 gm.  If you order several pieces of cut fabric, which in total weigh over 500 gms, but less than 1 kg, and exceed a packaging height of 2 cm, we will often ship this as two separate letter mail packages. This is often substantially less expensive than shipping as a single "parcel".

Any items that are over 2 cm and weigh more than 500 gm, must be sent as a "parcel".  Occasionally, Xpresspost envelopes are the least expensive option in this case, but in all scenarios, we will always ship to you in the most economical way.

It is wise to keep in mind that if you are ordering an item that exceeds 2 cm in height that it will need to be sent as a parcel.  For example a single spool of thread will have to be sent as a parcel due to it's size.  This is when you may want to assess whether you could use other colours of thread as well, since you may not pay much, if any, more shipping for other items should you want to add them.  For example, we had a customer want a single cone of King Tut thread shipped quickly.  It was an eye-opener to her, that we could ship an additional 6 cones for the same shipping cost.  It was the perfect time to buy extra thread, as she would not incur any additional shipping costs.

Any parcels with over $100 value will have extra insurance coverage added to the shipping fee, based on Canada Post's current pricing for this coverage.

Flannel, and especially batting, are bulky items, and as such incur higher shipping costs.
